You cannot delete a Google review simply because it is negative or because you disagree with it. Google only removes reviews that violate its content policies.
Reviews eligible for removal include those that contain spam or fake content, those posted by someone with a conflict of interest such as a competitor or former employee acting in bad faith, those that contain hate speech or offensive language, those that are clearly off-topic, and those that contain private information.
To flag a review for removal, go to your Business Profile, find the review, click the three dots next to it, and select “Report review.” Choose the most relevant reason. Google will assess the review against its policies. The process takes one to two weeks and is not guaranteed to result in removal.
For reviews that reflect a genuine negative customer experience, the most effective approach is responding publicly and professionally. A response that acknowledges the issue, takes responsibility where appropriate, and explains what action has been taken shows other potential customers that the business cares about resolution.
For multi-location brands, monitoring reviews across all dealer listings and ensuring consistent, timely responses is an operational function, not a marketing one. The volume of reviews across a large network requires a system rather than individual attention.
