Creating a Google Business Profile account takes about ten minutes. Here is the process:
Go to business.google.com and sign in with a Google account. If you do not have one, create a Gmail account first. Click “Manage now” and enter your business name. Google will search for existing listings that match. If yours appears, you can claim it. If not, click to create a new listing.
Next, select your business category. This affects which searches your listing appears for, so choose carefully. A sanitaryware showroom should select “Bathroom supply store” rather than something generic like “Retail store.”
Add your address if customers visit your location. If you serve customers at their location rather than a fixed address, you can specify a service area instead. Add your phone number and website. Then choose how to verify your listing. Google typically offers postcard verification, which takes five to fourteen days, or phone and email verification if your account qualifies.
For multi-location brands onboarding dealer listings, Google provides a bulk location management option that allows importing multiple locations at once via a spreadsheet, which is significantly faster than creating each listing individually.
