What should I post on Google My Business?

Post product updates, offers, events, and operational news. Regular posts keep your profile active and give customers reasons to choose your location.

Google Business Profile allows you to publish posts that appear on your listing in Search and Maps. Posts can be updates, offers, events, or product highlights. They typically expire after seven days unless set as events with specific dates.

Effective posts for retail and dealer locations include new product arrivals, seasonal promotions, changes in operating hours, local events at the showroom, answers to questions customers frequently ask, and highlights of specific products or services. Each post should include a clear headline, a specific description, a photo where possible, and a call to action such as a phone number, website link, or direction to visit.

Posting frequency matters to Google as a freshness signal. A profile that posts weekly is considered more active than one that posts monthly, and active profiles tend to rank better in local search results.

For multi-location brands managing dealer networks, coordinating posts across all locations is operationally complex. Some brands push national campaigns to all listings simultaneously while allowing regional or local posts at the location level. The key is that something is being posted regularly, not that every post is unique to every location.
