Adding photos to your Google Business Profile is done through the Photos section in business.google.com. Sign in, select your location, and click “Add photos” to upload images directly from your device.
Google categorises photos into types: exterior shots showing the outside of your location, interior shots showing the inside, product photos, team photos, and cover photos. Adding photos across multiple categories creates a more complete visual picture of your business.
Photo quality matters significantly. High-resolution, well-lit photos taken in good conditions perform better than dark, blurry, or poorly composed images. Customers are making decisions about whether to visit based partly on what your photos communicate about the experience they will have.
Listings with recent, high-quality photos receive more views and more direction requests than listings without photos. This effect compounds over time as more photos are added and as photos are refreshed with current content.
Customers can also add photos to your listing. These appear in a separate customer photos section. You cannot remove them unless they violate Google’s policies. Monitoring customer photos is part of overall listing management, as they sometimes include images that are unflattering or out of context.
